Luminary supports solo play and online co-op for up to 3 players with drop-in and drop-out multiplayer.

Shared Progression

Player and town progression carries across:

  • Solo sessions
  • Co-op sessions
  • Multiple playthroughs (including New Game+ plans)

You can switch freely between solo and co-op without losing progress, a core design goal inspired by family-friendly co-op play.

How to Play Co-op

1. Launch Luminary from Steam

2. Host or join an online session (Steam networking)

3. Invite friends via Steam overlay

4. Explore, fight, and upgrade your town together

Co-op Tips

  • Coordinate weapon roles: melee frontline, ranged, and magic support
  • Share exploration to uncover treasures faster
  • Town upgrades benefit all party members' hub progression
  • Communication helps when switching combat styles mid-fight

Demo vs Full Game

The Steam demo was a limited intro map. Early Access adds the fuller world, extended progression, and ongoing content updates.
