Getting started

Before you buy or launch, verify that your PC can run the game. Luminary uses DirectX 12 and requires a broadband internet connection for online co-op.

• Minimum: Windows 10/11, Intel i7 8700k, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 1080 (6 GB VRAM), DirectX 12, broadband internet, 20 GB storage. Targets 720p at 60 fps or 1080p at 30 fps on Low settings.
• Recommended: Windows 11, AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM), DirectX 12, broadband internet, 20 GB storage. Targets 1080p at 60 fps on Medium settings.

Once your setup is ready, your first play session should look something like this:

1. Choose your mode: start in single-player or jump straight into online co-op with friends.
2. Follow the opening objectives: the early game guides you toward gathering light and using it to push back the darkness.
3. Collect treasure as you explore: hidden loot feeds into town upgrades and character progression.
4. Return to town regularly: leveling up your town is a core progression loop, so invest resources as you find them.
5. Set your graphical expectations: if you are on minimum hardware, run Low settings for 720p 60fps or 1080p 30fps.

Because Luminary is in Early Access, expect systems, balance, and content to change over time. Check the Early Access FAQ and patch notes before starting a fresh run if you are returning after a break.
